Men’s Volleyball Downs Gulls in Five
BEVERLY, MA: The Rivier men's volleyball team picks up another win this evening after taking down Endicott College in five sets during non-conference action.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 2/17/22
- Score: Rivier 3, Endicott 2: Sets 25-16, 18-25, 30-28, 21-25, 15-13.
- Records: Rivier (3-6), Endicott (5-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Raiders took set one with ease after a solid offensive performance. Rivier tallied 15 kills to the Gulls seven to take it 25-16. However, Endicott would bounce back in set two, almost flipping the score with them hitting a .435 hitting percentage compared to a Raiders .111.
- Set three was almost even between the two teams. Rivier outhit the hosting Gulls by just one kill (16-15), giving them the edge to go up 2-1. Again, Endicott did not go away easily, forcing a fifth set after both teams struggled to find a rhythm on offense. Both teams had their highest number of errors, with both teams totaling seven.
- The fifth set was again close, with Endicott putting together more kills, but their four errors compared to the Raiders two made the difference in the end.
