(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Raiders earn their 4th consecutive win at home against the Hornets of Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, 17-7.

The Raiders are off to a good start! This win comes after the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced Colby Larsen (Windham, N.H.), Matt Cloutman (Peabody, Mass) and Nick Ackerman (Durham, N.H.) as Week 2's Player of the Week, Goal Keeper of the Week and Rookie of the week.

In addition thier teammates Eric Guinasso (Pelham, N.H.) Rob Fullerton (Wilmington, Mass) and Tyler McSparren (Warwick, R.I.) were nominated to GNAC's Week 2 Honor Roll.

Today's matchup was another opportunity for the Raiders to prove themselves. They did exactly that with an onslaught of early goals. Raider's captain Colby Larsen launched one into the back of the net just 4 minutes into the game from an Eric Guinasso dish.  A little over a minute later Eric Guinasso tallied one for himself off of a Robert Fullerton (Wilmington, Mass) assist. This goal wasn't the last for Guinasso as he ended up going on a tear tonight netting 4 more goals and a handing out 4 assists.

Fullerton also had a day, tallying 3 goals and 5 assists. While Chris Pennie (Wilmington, Mass) came up with 2 goals and 2 assists.

While the Raiders were clearly the agressors, the Hornets started to sting in the 3rd period.  Taner Onor scored 2 unassisted goals and Spencer Aubin (Sharon, Mass) also tallied an unassisted goal and Shea Jones (Hull, Mass) snuck in a goal in a man down situation.

However the swelling went down in the 4 quarter after the Raiders stuck 3 more goals in before the end of the game.  One of which was contributed by Nick Wolfrom (Pelham, N.H.), this was the second goal of the season for the senior attacker.

The Hornets showcased 2 goal keepers tonight.  Aaron Florence (Mandefille, LA) managed to make 15 saves while Camden Leclair (Colchester, VT) pulled down 3.

Raiders senior goalkeeper Matt Cloutman snagged 10 saves tonight demonstrating exactly why he is the top goalkeeper in the GNAC with 72.1% save percentage and just a meer 4.93 goals against average.

Rivier's aggressive defense earned them 24 groundballs and 15 turnovers.  Between Jacob Enwright (Dracut, Mass) , Jake Genest (Salem, N.H.) and Travis Gusikoff (Legrangeville, N.Y.) they each scooped up 3 groundballs apiece.

The Rivier University Raiders next matchup will be another home game slated for Wednesday, March 20th at 7PM on Raider Field.  The Hornets will take a long trip down to New London, CT this Saturday to face off against the Mariners of Mitchell College at 2PM.
