Rivier's S.A.A.C. adopt local families for the Holidays

(Nashua, N.H.) For the fifth consecutive year, the Rivier University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has adopted local area families for the Holiday Season. Last week, some members of the S.A.A.C. went to Target and purchased Christmas gifts for all of the families' children.

It was a community effort in helping to raise money for the gifts as each one of the 13 athletic teams contributed monies towards the cause which totaled over $600.00.

"The Rivier core mission is 'transforming hearts and minds to serve the world' and this is just a little way in which our student-athletes have transformed Christmas for these families," said Ellen Persson, Head Coach for Field Hockey/Women's Lacrosse and who also serves as the staff liaison for the committee. "For the past five years we have made an impact for local families and on behalf of the entire Rivier Athletic Staff we cannot be more proud of our student-athletes for taking the initiative in making this happen year after year."
