Women's Volleyball: Raiders tripped up at home by Keene State, 3-1

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team dropped their second straight contest to an undefeated opponent this evening as visiting Keene State College improved to 15-0 with a 3-1 win over the Raiders at the Muldoon Gymnasium.

The Raiders, who fall to 10-5 on the season, lost by set scores of 25-23, 11-25, 11-25 and 14-25.

Sophomore Taylor Dunster (Sutton, Mass.) led the team with nine kills and classmate Jessica Whyte (Plymouth, Mass.) added eight kills and three total blocks of her own for the Raiders. Junior Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) dished out 28 assists and senior libero Bethany Trevino (Westminster, Colo.) scooped up 14 digs.

Keene State was paced by the offensive effort from senior Rachel Lamica (Malone, N.Y.) who had 14 kills while also helping along the defensive front with nine digs and four total blocks. Sophomore Jennifer Severino (Groton, Conn.) added seven total blocks and eight kills for a .400 hitting percentage and junior Niamh Dodd (Mahopac, N.Y.) registered six total blocks and seven kills. Freshman Bailey Wilson (Moorpark, Calif.) was the director of the offense as she handed out 34 assists and junior Riley Bunker (Simi Valley, Calif.) provided additional defensive help with 16 digs.

Next up for the Raiders will be a trip north to the University of New England on Thursday night. Keene State will return to action on Friday night when they travel to Clark University for a 6pm non-conference affair.
