(Myrtle Beach, S.C.) The Raiders suffered a loss to the Falcons Pfeiffer University, 8-1.

The lone run for the Raiders was earned in the first inning by senior Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.).  It started by Smith cranking one straight into right field.  By the time she hit the brakes she found herself on third base with freshmen Brenna Welch (Wilmington, Mass.) stepping up to the plate. Welch wound up flying out to center field however Kasey Smith crossed the plate.  The Raiders took an early lead, 1-0.

The second inning went scoreless for the two sides.  The third inning is where the Falcons gained some confidence as they earned three runs off of two hits. Both teams went scoreless in the fourth, however the Falcons managed to earn a double and a single before getting caught stealing on the third out.

Fast forward to the bottom of the sixth inning and you'd see Raiders get tripped up again.  After two singles and an error the Falcons double to center field sending three home (2 unearned).  Then it was Sara Brown who singled up the middle and sent Addison York home for an unearned run to top the game off at 8-1 in favor of the Falcons.

Freshmen Nicole Verette was credited with the loss as she drops to 1-2. Ashlyn Kennedy of Pheiffer took the win she now sitting at 4-0.  She pitched six innings and earned five strikeouts and walked one batter.

The loss drops the Raiders to an overall record of 1-4.  The win lifts the falcons to 10-1.
