Men's Cross Country downed by Emerson College in Dual Meet

(Wenham, Mass.) The Rivier University Men's Cross Country team was defeated by a strong Emerson College team in a Dual Meet competition during the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College. The Lions took the top six spots in earning the 15-49 win over Rivier.

Emerson's Mike O'Connor was the Dual Meet winner as he had a time of 31:44. Matthew Benson (32:01), Sean Stackhouse (32:13), Tim Gersten (32:32) and Nick Rodewald (33:54) rounded out the top five places for the Lions.

Rivier's top finisher was sophomore Isaiah Arteaga (West Harford, Conn.) who was the 7th finisher with a time of 34:53. Joe Fitzgerald (Wilmington, Mass.) was 10th at 35:47, freshman Joe Kelland (Watertown, Mass.) had a time of 36:03 (11th) and classmate Tyler Tambouris (Hooksett, N.H.) crossed at 37:18 (12th).

Other Raider finishers were freshman William Ryan (Dorchester, Mass.) – 14th @ 38:15, Tyler Prendergast (Derry, N.H.) – 15th @ 38:21 and Max Tucci (Newton, Mass.) – 16th @ 39:35.
