Men's Basketball: Raiders fall to Colby-Sawyer, 111-76

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team returned to action this evening with a 111-76 setback to visiting Colby-Sawyer College in a non-conference contest inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss sends the Raiders to an overall record of 1-5 while the Chargers improve to 3-1 on the season.

Junior Nate Hale (Nashua, N.H.) led the offensive output for the Raiders as he shot 6-of-13 from the floor and finished with 19 points. Sophomore Patrick Meyers (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H.) knocked down three three-pointers for nine points and sophomore Tarik Rivers (Stamford, Conn.) totaled eight points on the night. Sophomore Tyler Bradenese (Billerica, Mass.) pulled down seven rebounds to lead the squad while also scoring seven points.

Colby-Sawyer saw four different student-athletes reach double-figures in scoring with junior Dana Bean (Franklin, N.H.) registering the game-high of 23 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double. Senior Jourdain Bell (Manchester, N.H.) finished with 23 points and junior Patrick Coffey (Westford, Mass.) chipped in with a 16-point effort. Sophomore Austin Boudreau (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) was the other Charger in double-figures as he finished with 10 points.

Rivier will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they host another Great Northeast Athletic Conference member in non-conference action as Emmanuel College invades the Muldoon for a 1pm tip. Colby-Sawyer will be back on the court this Saturday as they travel to Colby College in Maine for a 4pm start.
