Men's Basketball falls at the buzzer to Emmanuel

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this afternoon to visiting Emmanuel College, 74-72 inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss sends the Raiders to 2-6 in the GNAC and an overall record of 2-13. Emmanuel slides to 3-11 and 3-5 in league play.

Junior Victor Davila (Guaynabo, P.R.) led the offensive effort for the Raiders as he totaled 25 points over his 40 minutes of play. Edward Soucie (So. Rygate, Vt.) pulled down 5 rebounds while adding 6 points. Senior Anthony Simmons (Stamford, Conn.) also chipped in with 17 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for Rivier.

Emmanuel was paced by guards Rashad Dixon (Brockton, Mass.) and Kyle Smith (Los Angeles, Calif.) both providing 14 points. Freshman Will Jessup (Westwood, Mass.) contributed with 5 rebounds and 2 points. Joe Tamburro (So. Windsor, Conn.) also chipped in with 13 points and 2 rebounds in the win for the Saints.

Both teams will be back in conference action when they return to the court on Monday afternoon. Rivier will travel south to New Haven, Connecticut for a 3pm tilt with Albertus Magnus College. Emmanuel will also be traveling as they visit Johnson and Wales University down in Providence, R.I. with a 3pm tip-off.
