HENNIKER, N.H. – The Rivier baseball team swept New England Col. on the road in a GNAC (Great Northeast Athletic Conference) doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. With two homers on the afternoon, first-year Sebastien Reis broke the program's single-season home run record with five. The mark was previously set by current assistant coach Aramis Velez '13.

The Raiders got going early as Frank Gulezian singled through the left side pushing Colton Colleran over the plate to take a 1-0 lead after the first.

Kyle Hsu struck first in the third inning, hitting a double before scoring on a passed ball to increase the lead to two. Next, with two Raiders in scoring position, Sebastien Reis smashed a three-run homer over the left field fence for his second home run in the last three games. In the bottom of the frame, the Pilgrims put one on the board to bring the score to 5-1.

New England Col. tallied a run in both the fifth and sixth innings while keeping Rivier scoreless to trail by two.

Rivier then scored a pair in the seventh, with Luis Colon's sacrifice fly to right field bringing one run in before Hsu raced home on a wild pitch to extend the Raiders' lead to 7-3.

In the eighth, the Pilgrims scored a pair of their own with a two-RBI single to right field, bringing the score back within two, 7-5.

Rivier completed its scoring efforts in the top of the ninth after JD Normand got hit by a pitch to advance one over the plate for a final score of 8-5.

Anthony Morro got the start for Rivier and secured the win. The righty pitched six complete innings, striking out six batters while only allowing three runs.

The Raiders offensive erupted in the third inning, scoring six runs off eight hits to make it 7-1. Luis Colon's RBI single began the rally next before Reis found a gap in the left side to bring in another. The Pilgrims answered with two in the bottom half of the inning to bring the score to 7-3.

It was all Raiders in the fourth as Frank Gulezian singled to center, bringing Colleran across the plate.  A three-run homer off the Sebastien Reis was knocked over the left field fence, extending the Riv lead to 11-3.

Rivier registered three runs off three hits in the sixth to add insurance. First, Jacob Boudreau registered an RBI double before Kyle Hsu's single knocked him in. Finally, Luis Colon produced an RBI single to finish the inning.

The Raiders would then hold NEC scoreless for three innings.

In the first half of the ninth inning, the Raiders would tack on one more run to add to their lead 16-3. In a final effort to escape the 10-run mercy rule, the Pilgrims put up a pair but that would not be enough as the game was completed in seven innings.

Sean Kuhlhoff got the start and won game two. He tossed for six innings before Jameson Twombly came on in a relief appearance for the final inning. The two combined to strike out seven batters while only walking two Pilgrims.
