Volleyball Ends Season Perfect in Conference

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier women's volleyball team finished the regular season this afternoon against Lasell University and Dean College. Both matches were conference play, and the Raiders prevailed in both by scores of 3-0 with Lasell and 3-1 with Dean. Rivier also honored their three seniors that will be playing their final seasons here. The seniors are Leah Giampietro (Coventry, RI), Aly Werth (Bedford, MA), and Julianna Byington (Hanscom AFB, MA).

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/30/2021

- Score: Rivier 3, Lasell 0: Sets (25-15, 25-11, 25-16), Dean 1: Sets (25-13, 25-8, 15-25, 25-14)

- Records: Dean (4-20, 1-12 GNAC), Lasell (16-12, 7-6 GNAC), Rivier (19-5, 13-0 GNAC)

GAME ONE: LASELL

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- It was a quick match for the Raiders against the Lasers. Lily Sills (Carlisle, MA) and Sydney Racevicius (Woodbury, CT), who combined for 22 kills at 11 each, were landing points at will. Avery Pollard (Ballston Lake, NY) facilitated the game offensively, dishing out 31 assists and five service aces.  

-  Mckenna McCool led Lasell's offense with seven kills, tallying half of Jess Langan's assists that finished at 14 for the match.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Kills: Rivier 37, Lasell 19

-  Assists: Rivier 33, Lasell 17

-  Digs: Rivier 27, Lasell 16

GAME TWO: DEAN

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Match two was a 40 kill game for the Raiders, with Cadia Greene (N Kingstown, RI) and Lydia Pray (Groton, MA) leading the way. Greene and Pray both finished with 11 kills in the contest, along with Greene tallying 12 digs.

- Brynn Roche (Johnston, RI)  had a match high eight service aces to go along with her eight kills. The offense ran through Anna Campbell (Nashua, NH) in this one. She finished the game with 23 assists and seven digs.

- Dean was able to take a set away from the Raiders. This was in part to Sari Albury, who ended with a team high six kills and five service aces.

UP NEXT:

- Rivier women's volleyball will be back in action Tuesday with the first round of the GNAC playoffs. Who they will be facing has yet to be determined but will be posted on the website.
