Women's Volleyball Picks Up Third Straight

CHICOPEE, MA:  The Rivier women's volleyball team took down another GNAC opponent this evening to remain perfect in conference play. The Raiders bested Elms College in four sets to win in 3-1 with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, 23-25, 25-20.

THE BASICS:

- Score: Rivier 3, Elms 0: Set scores: 25-16, 25-15, 23-25, 25-20.

- Records: Elms (11-6, 6-3 GNAC), Rivier (10-5, 7-0 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders jumped up 2-0 in sets early in the match. The Blazers were able to bounce back and take one set away from the visiting team before falling in the fourth to end the match.

-  For Rivier, Lily Blodgett (Dunstable, MA) continued to hit the ball well, again finishing with the match high in kills with 19. Lily Sills (Carlisle, MA) also contributed double digit kills with ten from the middle. Avery Pollard (Ballston Lake, NY) dished out another 35 assists this evening, along with nine kills and 18 digs. Pollard led the defensive effort as well with the 18 digs. Right behind her was Sofia Pawlusik (Burt Hills, NY) and Sydney Racevicius (Woodbury, CT). Pawlusik tallied 17 digs, while Racevicius had 16 along with eight kills.   

- For the Blazers, Alanys Cruz Diaz led the offense with 15 kills and 14 digs. Govanna Rosado had a match high of 37 assists. Kianna Lozada held Elms' defense together with a solid 19 digs.
