Women's Volleyball Drops Match to Emerson
NASHUA, NH: The Rivier University women's volleyball team dropped a match this evening to non-conference opponent Emerson College 3-1 with Set scores of 23-25, 25-17, 18-25, and 20-25.
THE BASICS:

- Score: Emerson 3, Rivier 1. Sets (23-25, 25-17, 18-25, 20-25)
- Records: Emerson (6-3), Rivier (2-4)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Raiders dropped a close first set 25-23 but were able to tie it up 1-1 with a second set victory. Lily Sills (Carlisle, MA) continues to show her dominance as a freshmen middle hitter with another 13 kills on the day. Through six matches, she has accumulated 65 kills with a .352 percentage.
- Avery Pollard (Ballston Lake, NY) also had a solid match this evening with 27 assists, four kills, and ten digs.
- The Lions were however able to stave off the Raiders for the remainder of the match, winning the next two sets. Logan Steenbergen had a game high 14 kills along with seven digs and three service aces. Carolyn Vaimoso was just behind her with 12 kills of her own and six digs.

- Assists: Emerson 42, Rivier 31
- Digs: Emerson 67, Rivier 56
UP NEXT:
- The Rivier women's volleyball team will be back in action Saturday during their conference opener tri-match against Simmons University and the University of Saint Joseph's. Action will begin at 10 am with Simmons and USJ at 2 pm.
