Women’s Soccer Bested by Emmanuel (Mass.) in GNAC Quarterfinals

BOSTON, Mass. – The Rivier women's soccer team traveled to Roberto Clemente Field and faced Emmanuel (Mass.) in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Quarterfinals, where they were shutout 6-0. Despite the loss, the Raiders completed their winningest season since 1997, with 10 victories in the campaign.

The second seeded Saints (13-3-3-, 9-2-2 GNAC) dominated the first half, recording five goals in just under 20 minutes with no answer from the Raiders.

Less than two minutes into the second half, Sarah Dullaghan of Emmanuel scored, collecting a hat trick on the day to increase the Saints lead to 6-0.  

Starting goalkeeper for the Raiders, Bri Nugent made three saves, while Maya Puma came in for the second half and made four saves.  

Jordan Butters finished up the season with 10 goals and six assists for 26 total points, earning the top offensive spot in the Raiders lineup.

First year head coach Daniel Milton, guided Rivier to 10-7-3 overall and 8-5-2 in the GNAC, which also tied the record for most conference wins in a regular season in program history.

Emmanuel will continue its quest for the GNAC crown in a home GNAC Semifinals matchup on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
