Women’s Soccer Falls to Colby-Sawyer, 1-0

NASHUA, N.H. - The Rivier women's soccer team fell at home to Colby-Sawyer by a final score of 1-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Tuesday night at Merrill Field. 

The lone Chargers (9-3-3, 8-2-1 GNAC) goal was recorded by Bridget O'Connell as she crossed through the box around the Riv (8-3-3, 7-2-2 GNAC) defenders from a through ball by Sam Bishop to find the back of the net in the 38th minute. 

Colby-Sawyer controlled the contest, outshooting Rivier 26-5. The Raiders had two corner kick opportunities, versus the Chargers five, unable to capitalize from the corner on either try. 

Bri Nugent, Rivier's keeper, made her 10th start of the season in net, recording 12 saves. 

The Raiders will travel to Newton, Mass. for a GNAC matchup on Saturday, Oct. 14 with a start time of 3:00 p.m. at Taylor Field.
