Women's Soccer Falls to Simmons

BOSTON, MA: The Rivier University women's soccer team dropped a conference game this evening to Simmons University 4-2 on Daly Field.  

  THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/6/2021

- Score: Simmons 4, Rivier 2

- Records: Simmons (2-6, 2-4 GNAC), Rivier (2-9-1, 0-7-1 GNAC)

 HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The game started off quickly for the Sharks, with their first goal coming just 2:27 into the contest. Nell Spencer would find the back of the net first for the hosting squad. Simmons would tally one more 22 minutes later from Izabella Warren.

-  The Raiders would get on the board in the 43rd minute to end the half on a Sami Blais (Nashua, NH) unassisted goal.

- The Second half would again start with the Sharks beating the Rivier keeper to go up 3-1 just three minutes in. Sydney Neumuth was credited with the third Simmons goal.

- The second half ended with two more goals. One coming from Alexis McFarland (Manchester, NH) of the Raiders in the 59th minute. The scoring ended with one last Simmons goal in the 83rd minute to seal it for the home team. The final goal was once again Nell Spencer for the Sharks giving her two scores in the contest.
