Women's Lacrosse Downs AMCATS

Nashua, NH: The Rivier University women's lacrosse team earned a huge conference win against the Anna Maria College tonight 13-11 on Joanne Merrill Field.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 4/26/22

- Score: Rivier 13 – Anna Maria 11

- Records: Rivier (4-11, 3-10 GNAC) Anna Maria (3-15, 1-12 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Raiders edged out the AMCATS in the first quarter 5-3. Sarah Lachance (Chelmsford, MA) netted two goals a little over a minute apart from each other.  The AMCATS struck back with an unassisted goal, but only to be doubled up on by a pair of goals from Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) and Chiara Skeels (Swanton, VT). The last in the period to score was Caitlin Newell (Litchfield, NH) off an Ashley Wilder (Milford, NH) dish.

-  The second quarter, both teams scored three apiece.  Wilder, Hinkley, and Newell struck again, closing out the half 11-8 with the scoreline in their favor.

- Between the third and fourth quarters both squads tallied 5 goals apiece were evenly scored between the two teams however the Raiders outshot their conference foes 14-9. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Rivier went 16-24 in their clear attempts

- Lindsey Kruger (New Bedford, Mass.) currently sits fourth in the GNAC with 155 saves.

- Lachance led the Raiders with 6 goals tonight and leads the team with 47 goals and 29 assists.

UP NEXT:

- Tonight's matchup ends the regular season for the Raiders, their record remains 4-11 and 3-10 in league play.
