Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Lasell

NEWTON, MA: The Rivier women's lacrosse team fell in a rescheduled game against GNAC opponent Lasell University.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 4/21/22

- Score: Lasell 15, Rivier 5

- Records: Lasell (5-8, 4-6 GNAC), Rivier (3-10, 2-9 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Lasell dominated each quarter but the fourth while playing a man-up on the Raiders. The Lasers outscored Rivier 14-4 through three quarters of play. Teresa Kessner led the way for Lasell scoring six goals and dishing out two assists. Sydney Brady was just behind her with four goals and one assist.

- The Raiders did score a goal in each quarter. Caitlin Newell (Litchfield, NH) got the Raiders on the board in the first quarter. Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) would follow with Riv's second goal in the second on a man-up opportunity. The Raiders would pick up two more in the third on an Ashley Wilder (Milford, NH) goal and a second score coming from Newell. Hinkley would close out the game with her second goal of the contest to get the 15-5 final.

- Devin Zambruno would pick up her fifth win of the season in net for the Lasers after saving ten shots on net.

-  Free Position Goals: Lasell 2, Rivier 0
