Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, NH: The Rivier women's lacrosse falls to Colby-Sawyer this afternoon in conference action.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 4/5/22

- Score: CS-C 19, Rivier 8

- Records: CS-C (9-1, 7-1 GNAC), Rivier (2-8, 1-7 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The first quarter saw a lot of scoring but saw the Chargers come out on top 6-4. The Raiders had four different players score in the first, with Caitlin Newell (Litchfield, NH) starting it off, followed by  Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ), Audrey Schnoor (Middlebury, VT), and Sarah LaChance (Chelmsford, MA). For the Chargers, the quarter was highlighted by three goals for Sophia Kuhlthau.

- The second quarter only saw one Raider goal to Colby-Sawyers six. Newell was the lone scorer for Riv, while four of the Chargers six goals were scored by Sydney Stevens.

- The third saw another five Chargers goals, with Kuhlthau netting two more and Stevens one to add to their already impre3ssive totals. For Rivier, Hinkley would score her second to make the score 17-6 going into the fourth.

- The fourth quarter was a draw 2-2, with LaChance scoring on a man-up opportunity. Olivia Romo and Caroline Tompkins netted the Chargers two before Rose Daddario (Hudson, NH) would end it for the Raiders.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Kuhlthau had the game high of six goals along with three assists.

-  Stevens tallied five goals with one assist.

-  Hinkley, Newell, and LaChance all scored two goals each for the Raiders.

- Rivier women's lacrosse will be back in action Saturday on the road at Regis College for a 12:00 PM game.
