Women’s Lacrosse Falls to JWU

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier women's lacrosse team was defeated by Johnson & Wales this afternoon in conference action.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 3/26/22

- Score: JWU 22, Rivier 4

- Records: JWU (5-3, 4-0 GNAC), Rivier (2-5, 1-4 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  After a tied first quarter at 3-3, JWU would turn it on in the second quarter and the remainder of the game.

- The Raiders would put up all four of their goals in the first half. Three came in the first quarter, with two coming from Sarah LaChance (Chelmsford, MA) and the other from Tara Saliany (Nashua, NH). Their lone goal in the second quarter would be scored by Caitlin Newell (Litchfield, NH).

- The second half was all Wildcats finishing the game on a 15-0 run. Tiana Gamory would lead the way for JWU with eight goals. She was followed by Katie Sloan, who had six goals.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Gamory tallied 8 goals with another 3 assists.

-  Madeleine Gould had 4 goals for the Wildcats

-  LaChance had 2 goals and 1 assist.

- Rivier women's lacrosse will be back Tuesday when they travel to Simmons for a 7:00 pm game.
