Women’s Lacrosse Stumbles Against Monks

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier women's lacrosse team fell to Saint Joseph's College in conference action this evening.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 3/15/22

- Score: SJC 20, Rivier 5

- Records: SJC (5-0, 1-0 GNAC), Rivier (1-3, 0-2 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The monks exploded out of the gate with four consecutive goals all by different student-athletes. The Raiders would get one back to end the run on a Caitlin Newell (Litchfield, NH) score.

- The next 15 goals starting in the first quarter would all come from the monks. Rivier wouldn't break the streak until the fourth quarter, when they would put up four goals in a row. Sarah LaChance (Chelmsford, MA) would contribute two of the four goals, with Newell notching her second of the game and Ashley Wilder (Milford, NH) netting her first. SJC would close out the game with one more goal from Heather Rohr.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Mackenzie Siebert would lead all scorers with 4 goals on 5 shots.

-  Brianna Paul, Shauna Clark, Megan Mourmouras, and Bridget Collins would all net 3 goals each.

-  Lydia Dexter would end with a game high 7 assists along with 2 goals.

- LaChance and Newell would both net 2 goals each for the Raiders.
