(Providence, R.I.) The Rivier Women's Lacrosse team fell on the road this evening against the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats 14-1. With the loss, the Raiders drop their season record to 1-6 (1-2 GNAC). As for the Wildcats, they improve their season record to a perfect 6-0 (2-0 GNAC).
This was a very difficult GNAC matchup for the Raiders in this one. Unfortunately, the Raiders were on the road to take on the undefeated Wildcats on Johnson & Wales University. The game began with an impressive 12-0 run by the Wildcats. The Raiders were kept off of the scoreboard completely in the first half. The Wildcats began with 9 first half goals, followed by 3 straight second half goals. It wasn't until Amanda Wickens (Tyngsboro, Mass.) was able to break the scoring drought for the Raiders at the 16:51 mark of the second half.
Unfortunately for Rivier, this would be the lone goal scored for them in this contest. Johnson & Wales would end up scoring the final two goals of the game to seal the 14-1 victory
