Women’s Ice Hockey Takes Down Anna Maria in OT of ECHA Semifinals

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Rivier women's ice hockey team claimed a 1-0 win over Anna Maria in the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) Semifinals on Friday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

Rivier is now 12-10-3 overall while the AMCATS concluded their season tonight going 8-14-4.

The Raiders and the AMCATS battled for possession throughout the entirety of regulation, with neither team being able to break the deadlock through 60 minutes of action, forcing overtime.

Rivier's Brianna Rumptz broke away from the AMCATS dashing up the ice to tap in the winning goal in overtime at 3:31 with assists credited to Caeli Reed and Paige Anger.

Raiders' junior goaltender Rachel Hinkley had an outstanding showing, making 52 saves to collect the shutout. With her ninth save of the evening, she earned her 1,000th career save.

The Raiders will make their first ECHA Championship appearance in program history when they face the Lancers of Worcester St. on Sunday, Feb. 25 with a 4:50 p.m. puck drop back at the Worcester Ice Center.
