Women’s Ice Hockey Downed by Potsdam in The Bagley Invitational Tournament Consolation Game

RUTLAND, VT. – The Rivier women's ice hockey team lost 2-0 to Potsdam in The Bagley Invitational Tournament Consolation Game on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Arena.

The Raiders are now 4-5-3 overall as the Bears moved to 5-6-0 on the season with the triumph.

Catherine Proulx took advantage of a powerplay opportunity to score the Bears' first goal of the afternoon with a slapshot from the right faceoff circle, with assists from Alex Quinn and Megan Teachout at 8:55, to give the Bears the early lead.

Lyvia Chambers fired in the second goal for Potsdam, with an assist credited to Elise Clifford at the 15:07 mark of the second period.

Neither team would score in the third as the Bears shut out Rivier in neutral site action.

Rivier totaled four minutes on two infractions, and Potsdam totaled six minutes on three infractions.

Rachel Hinkley made 40 saves in net for Riv in her second start of the season.

The Raiders and the Bears head into their winter break but will face off against each other again on Friday, Jan. 5 with a home contest at Conway Arena with an 8:00 p.m. puck drop.
