Women’s Ice Hockey and Anna Maria Play to 1-1 Tie

NASHUA, N.H. – After both teams scored in regulation, neither could strike in the five minute overtime period, resulting in a 1-1 tie on Tuesday night between the Rivier women's ice hockey team and Anna Maria at Conway Arena in Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) play. Rivier fell to 3-1-1 (0-0-1 ECHA) on the season while Anna Maria went to 1-2-1 (1-0-1 ECHA).

Briana Parent got the scoring going early on a powerplay opportunity, tipping in a Rebecca McKelvey shot with 7:38 to play in the first.

Both teams went scoreless in the second stanza, with Anna Maia outshooting Rivier, 12-10.

Halfway through the third period, the Raiders went on the penalty kill holding the 1-0 lead. The AMCATS snuck in a goal, evening the score at 1-1.

Rivier had solid scoring opportunities in overtime, putting six shots on target, but none would slip past Sam Dahill before the final buzzer sounded.

First year netminder Taylor Bruno tallied 29 saves in her collegiate debut for the Raiders.

Both teams were 50% on powerplay tries, each going one-for-two on the evening.

Rivier will return to home ice on Saturday, Nov. 11 for another ECHA matchup, this time against the Lancers of Worcester St. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. from Conway Arena.
