Women’s Hockey Falls Short to Worcester State

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier women's hockey team fell this evening to Worcester State in their final home game of the season.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/19/22

- Score: Worcester 3, Rivier 2

- Records: Worcester (13-6-2), Rivier (1-14-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Worcester State got on the board in the first period on an Amy MacGlashing goal. The Lancers held the 1-0 lead until 6:40 into the second period, when the Raiders knotted it up at one. Heather McHatton (Ashburnham, MA) took advantage of a shielded tender and took a one timer from straight away.

Briana Paxson (Eagle River, AK) would put Rivier up 2-1 11:59 into the third period. The Lancers would tie it back up at 13:55 by another MacGlashing goal.

- The game remained tied 2-2 up until 17:50 into the third when Kiersten Erickson put Worcester back on top 3-2.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) helped keep the Raiders in the game after saving 40 shots on goal.

-  Shots: Worcester 43, Rivier 7

-  Penalties: Rivier 6 minutes on 3 infractions, Worcester 2 minutes on 1 infraction.
