Parent Leads Women’s Hockey to First Win with Two Goals

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier women's hockey team got their first victory in program history this evening against Curry College.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/15/2022

- Score: Rivier 2, Curry 1

- Records: Curry (3-10), Rivier (1-9-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Colonels got on the board first just 35 seconds into the game. Grayson Goolgasian was responsible for the only score for Curry this evening.

- The Raiders wouldn't be down for long. They tied it up at one 3:43 into the first period on a short-handed goal by Brianna Parent (St. Albans, VT). She would score the game winning goal just nine minutes later in the first period on a powerplay.

- Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) had a great night in net for the Raiders saving 36 shots on net.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: Curry 37, Rivier 12

- Penalties: Curry 10 minutes on 5 infractions, Rivier 17 minutes on 7 infractions

-  Powerplay: Rivier 1 for 5, Curry 0 for 7.

- Rivier women's hockey will be back in action Tuesday the 25th at Salem State. The puck drop is set for 4 pm.
