Morgan Racks Up 52 Saves in Loss to Seahawks

MIDDLETOWN, RI: The Rivier women's hockey team fell this evening to Salve Regina. Raider Tender Madelyn Morgan (Riverside, CA) did all she could to keep her squad in the game, as she tallied 52 saves.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/11/2022

- Score: Salve 3, Rivier 0

- Records: Salve (2-7), Rivier (0-8-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Seahawks shut out the Raiders this evening. Ellee Kopecky saved all 11 shots faced in net for Salve. The Seahawks broke the scoreless tie nine minutes into the second period on a Nicole Schneiders powerplay goal.

- They would tack on two more in the third period to get the 3-0 final. Emily Wagner and Ani Flaherty would net those.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: Salve 55, Rivier 11

-  Saves: Rivier 52, Salve 11

-  Powerplays: Salve was 1 for 3, Rivier 0 for 2

- Rivier women's hockey will be back Friday when they travel to Curry College for a 7 pm puck drop.
