Women’s Hockey Falls to New England College

HENNIKER, NH: The Rivier women's hockey team was bested this evening by New England College in a rescheduled matchup by a score of 3-1.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 11/30/2021

- Score: NEC 3, Rivier 1

- Records: NEC (2-5), Rivier (0-5)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The first period consisted of one goal by the Pilgrims at 15:30. Emily Lenzen scored the first of her two goals to give NEC the 1-0 lead.

- Becca Pouliot would tack on another at the 2:13 mark in the third period to increase the Grims lead to two.

- The Raiders would get on the board just 30 seconds later on a Brianna Parent (St. Albans, VT) goal, which put them within one.

- New England College would, however, net one more just 27 seconds later. Lenzen would beat Rivier tender Madelyn Morgan (Riverside, CA), who compiled 50 saves for a second time to get the final of 3-1.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: NEC 53, Rivier 15

-  Saves: Rivier 50, NEC 14

-  Penalties: Rivier and NEC both had 4 minutes on 2 infractions.
