Women’s Hockey Scores in Loss to Plymouth

Plymouth, NH: The Rivier women's hockey team fell to Plymouth State this evening by a score of 5-1.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 11/5/2021

- Score: Plymouth 5, Rivier 1

- Records: Plymouth (2-1), Rivier (0-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Panthers got on the board first just 4:12 into the first period on a Robyn Grant goal to take a 1-0 lead. The Raiders would answer back with their first goal of the season just two minutes later. Briana Paxson (Eagle River, AK) found the back of the net for Rivier to mark the first goal in program history. However, that would be all in regard to Raider goals. Plymouth would tack one more on to end the first to go back on top 2-0.

-  The second period would see just one goal by Addie Swanson, who was responsible for the last goal in the first. She finished leading all scorers with two goals.

- The Third period wrapped up the scoring for Plymouth with another two to get the final of 5-1. Georgia McLellan netted the first in the period at 5:55, with Abigale McGee finishing it off at 15:16.

- Madelyn Morgan (Riverside, CA) had another solid night in net after seeing 40 shots, in which she saved 35.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Shots: Plymouth 40, Rivier 7 

-  Penalties: Rivier 2 minutes on 1 infraction. Plymouth 6 minutes on 3 infractions.

-  Power Plays: Rivier 0 for 2, Plymouth 0 for 0.

UP NEXT:

- Rivier women's hockey will be back in action tomorrow night at 7 pm when they host the Greyhounds of Assumption College.
