NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier women's basketball team used a 34-point outing by Lyric Grumblatt to breeze past JWU-Providence by a final score of 77-57 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Saturday afternoon at the Muldoon Center.

The Raiders advanced to 7-12 (5-4 GNAC) while the Wildcats dropped to 8-11 (3-5 GNAC).

Rivier got out to a 16-11 lead after the opening 10 minutes as Grumblatt scored six points, followed by Emily Coleman who hit both of her shots to add four points of her own.

The Raiders poured in 27 points in the second quarter as Grumblatt went off, hitting three of her five three-point attempts on her way to scoring 11 points in the frame to lead 43-30 at the half.

JWU-Providence cut its deficit to seven points 2:38 into the third quarter on a Peyton Oliver layup. The Raiders then pieced together a 9-0 run over the next 3:28 to take their largest lead of the night with a 16-point lead in hand.

Rivier's lead only increased in the fourth as Grumblatt, Dufries, Guinn, and Anna Stenger all contributed on offense to give the home team a 20-point victory, snapping the two-game skid.

Grumblatt shot 52.2% from the field and went 6-of-12 (50%) from deep while hitting four of her five three-throw attempts. She added eight rebounds, four steals, and an assist to stuff the stat sheet. Both Alexa Dufries (15 points) and Rachel Guinn (10 points) finished with double-digit point totals in the triumph.
