Women’s Basketball Falls to Bates, 87-62

LEWISTON, Maine – The Rivier women's basketball team traveled to Bates and lost in non-conference play by a final score of 87-62 at Alumni Gym on Monday evening. 

The Raiders fall to 5-10 overall while the Bobcats move to 12-2 on the season. 

Despite the loss, Lyric Grumblatt battled throughout the contest, putting up 24 points along with five rebounds and five assists. Alexa Dufries contributed 13 points and three rebounds while Jessica Carrier stepped up for the Raiders tonight, totaling 12 points, shooting 66.6% from the field, with five rebounds and three steals. 

Six Bobcats players hit double digits in the points column tonight to secure the win. Elsa Daulerio recorded a double-double, notching 10 points and 12 rebounds.  

The Bobcats shot 48.8% from the field, while the Raiders shot 28.2% from the floor. Rivier tallied over double the amount of foul shot opportunities than Bates, sinking 17 of 20. 

The Raiders remain on the road on Wednesday night as they travel to face Norwich with a tip off of 5:00 p.m. at Andrews Hall Gymnasium for their fourth Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest of the season.
