CHICOPEE, Mass. Lyric Grumblatt and Rachel Guinn each recorded double-double performances in a 78-71 road win over Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Elms on Saturday afternoon at Picknelly Arena.

The Raiders finished up their first-semester slate 3-8 (1-1 GNAC), while the Blazers skidded to 5-5 (0-2 GNAC).

The Raiders poured in 26 points in the second quarter as the team shot 4-of-9 (44.4%) from deep to secure a 43-35 halftime lead.

Elms closed the gap to two points after 30 minutes of play, but Grumblatt would take over in the fourth, using seven free throws to notch 11 points as the Raiders fended off the Elms comeback bid.

Grumblatt finished one takeaway shy of a triple-double with 34 points, 13 rebounds, nine steals, and five assists. Guinn hauled in a team-high 20 rebounds while also scoring 18 points. Anna Stenger followed that up with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field while also recording six rebounds.

Rivier hauled in 49 rebounds compared to Elms' 46, as the Raiders scored 20 second-chance points and 36 points in the paint.

The Raiders will press pause on the regular season schedule as they head into the holiday break before returning to action against in-state GNAC foe New England Col. on Saturday, Jan. 6 with tip-off set for 1:30 p.m. from Bridges Gym.
