NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier women's basketball team suffered a 73-53 setback to WPI in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders now sit one game below .500 at 2-3 while WPI jumped to 4-1 on the season.

The Engineers led by 10 at the end of the first quarter as both Adrianna Niles and Ava Giansiracusa recorded five points in the opening period. The Raiders' deficit would increase to as many as 18 points in the second quarter as WPI held a 26-11 halftime lead.

Lyric Grumblatt poured in 27 points in the second half in an effort to will Rivier back into the game but it would not be enough as WPI outscored the Raiders 47-42 in the half to hold on for a 20 point victory.
