Women’s Basketball Runs Past Fisher in Season Opener

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier women's basketball team opened the season with a dominating victory over Fisher, downing the Falcons by a final score of 74-17 on Wednesday night at Muldoon Gymnasium. Rivier starts the campaign 1-0 while Fisher falls to 0-3 with the setback. 

Rivier shot 42.9% and limited the Falcons to 6-of-52 shooting from the floor to run away with the first victory of the season. 

Lyric Grumblatt led the way with 16 points on 60% shooting as one of four Raiders who posted double-digit point totals. Bea Stafford led the squad with eight total rebounds. 

Rivier had 17 steals on 28 Fisher turnovers, scoring 29 points off turnovers. 

The Raiders will hit the road for a matchup against Western New Eng. on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:00 p.m. in their first game of the Wheaton Tip-Off Tournament.
