Women’s Basketball Upsets the Falcons

NASHUA, NH: Rivier women's basketball won against Albertus Magnus College this afternoon in the Muldoon Center.   

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/4/23

- Score: Rivier 76, Albertus Magnus 70

- Records: Rivier (12-11, 9-6 GNAC), Albertus Magnus (19-2, 14-1 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Raiders and the Falcons started off the game going shot for shot, and then Riv quickly dominated the rest of the first quarter. The Raiders concluded the quarter with six 3's, four were earned by Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, NH). Albertus Magnus picked up two technical fouls.

- The Raiders continued to take charge in the second quarter ending the half 47-37. Grumblatt had 21 points in the first half.

- Raiders' Bea Stafford (Saunderstown, RI) had a strong third quarter putting up six points.

- In the fourth quarter, the Raiders battled to keep their lead. Grumblatt ended the day with a double-double, recording 29 points and 10 rebounds for Riv. Stafford scored 16 points, Brianna Wilcox (Londonderry, NH) added 14 points, and Hannah Muchemore (Nashua, NH) contributed 10 points for the Raiders.

- For the Falcons, Caitlyn Scott scored 22 points and Jakara Murray-Leach had 18 points and 10 rebounds, collecting a double-double.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Rebounds: Albertus Magnus 44, Rivier 43

- Assists: Rivier 15, Albertus Magnus 7

- Shooting Percentage: Rivier 42.9%, Albertus Magnus 34.2%
