Women’s Basketball Dominates Cadets in 64-44 Victory

NORTHFIELD, VT: The Rivier women's basketball team won their sixth straight conference game this evening against Norwich University.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/15/2022

- Score: Rivier 64, Norwich 44

- Records: Rivier (11-10, 7-7 GNAC), Norwich (8-11, 6-6 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, NH) dominated the first quarter for the Raiders. She scored 15 of the team's 19 points in the quarter, along with grabbing four rebounds. Overall, Grumblatt had 21 in the half, helping them take a 33-19 lead into the break.

- The second half saw the Raiders reach their largest lead of 24 points. Playing a key role in the team's second half success was Anna Stenger (Weare, NH), who scored 15 points in the fourth quarter alone.

- Silas Bernier had the team high in scoring for the Cadets with 12 points. Haley Brewster put in a solid rebounding night as she pulled down 10 boards.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Grumblatt finished with 31 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.

-  Stenger had 17 points to go along with her five rebounds.

-  Shot %: Rivier 36.5, Norwich 28.8
