Women’s Basketball Downed by Cadets

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier women's basketball team fell to Norwich University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action this afternoon.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/30/22

- Score: Norwich 83, Rivier 73

- Records: Norwich (8-7, 6-2 GNAC), Rivier (6-11, 2-8 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  After a one-point first quarter ending in the Cadets favor, Norwich would go on a 23-14 run in the second to get out in front of the Raiders. Norwich saw their largest lead of the night in the second, leading by as man as 14. Overall, there were six lead changes and three ties throughout the contest.

- Rivier would win the third quarter 18-16 but wouldn't cut enough into the Norwich lead.

- Haley Brewster had the team high for the Cadets at 22 points. She also grabbed 10 rebounds for the double-double.

- Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, NH) had the game high in points with 24. She also pulled down eight rebounds and had four assists. Alexa Dufries (Leicester, MA) had 17 points as well.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shooting %: Norwich 51.7, Rivier 41

-  Rebounds: Norwich 35, Rivier 32

-  Assists: Rivier 13, Norwich 12

- Rivier women's basketball will be back on the road Tuesday against GNAC opponent St. Joseph's College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 pm.
