Softball Downs Fisher on Senior Day

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier softball team only played in one contest against Fisher College due to unforeseen circumstances game two wasn't able to continue past the first inning. The Raiders did get the victory in game one 20-0 on their senior day. The softball team said goodbye to six seniors, Micayla Bourski (Pawtucket, RI), Nicole Capra (Windham, NH), Julia Dailey (Dracut, MA), Sydney Greeno (Shirley, MA), Sarah McCluskey (Lowell, MA), and Katerina St. Angelo (Johnston, RI).  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 4/29/22

- Score: Rivier 20, Fisher 0

- Records: Rivier (13-22), Fisher (0-22)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Courtney Marioles (Hudson, NH) got her second win of the season after pitching four innings, allowing just one hit, and striking out two.

- McCluskey was a perfect 4-for-4 while scoring four times and batting in five Raiders. Sarah Frazier (Londonderry, NH) was 2-for -3 on the day with three RBIs. Capra and Bourski both tallied three hits in the game.

- The Falcons lone hit came from Edsyl Irizarry who was a perfect 1-for-1.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Rivier outhit the Falcons 18 to one.

-  The Raiders biggest inning came in the second when they pushed across 11 runs.

-  Greeno pitched one inning for the Raiders allowing no hits and striking out two.

- Rivier softball will play Simmons University to close out the regular season Saturday at 1 and 3 PM.
