Softball Dropped Two Against Albertus

NEW HAVEN, CT: The Rivier softball team fell in both GNAC contests against Albertus Magnus to fall to 5-7 in conference action.  

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 4/25/22

- Score: Albertus 1, Rivier 0. G2 Albertus 9, Rivier 0.

- Records: Albertus (28-6, 14-0 GNAC), Rivier (12-20, 5-7 GNAC)

GAME ONE:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Erin Dighello (W, 15-3) shut down the Raiders offense in game one, going all seven innings and allowing just one hit while striking out six.

- Janelle Franklin capitalized on the Falcons only run scoring opportunity with a single to centerfield to plate the games only run.

- Nicole Verrette (Haverhill, MA) pitched all seven for the Raiders, allowing seven hits and just one earned run. She was also responsible for the only Rivier hit.

GAME TWO:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Skylar Arent (W, 12-2) picked up the win after going four innings with just two hits allowed.

-  Ivy Geloso was a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs batted in. Karissa Kerrs had one official at bat, and she made the most of it as she cleared the bases on a triple to right center field.

-  The Raiders two hits came from Nicole Capra (Windham, NH) and Verrette.

UP NEXT:

- Rivier softball will be back in action Tuesday when they make up their games against Emmanuel College at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
