Softball Falls to New England College

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier softball team fell in both games against non-conference opponent New England College.

THE BASICS:

- Score: NEC 9, Rivier 5. G2 NEC 10, Rivier 2

- Records: NEC (9-13), Rivier (10-18)

GAME ONE:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The story of game one was the Pilgrims Daelyn Ross, who was a perfect 3-for-3 with three homeruns and four RBIs. Destiny Helmedach also hit a homer to left field as one of her three hits.

Kayla Miles (Londonderry, NH) was the most productive for the Raiders offense going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.

- Olivia Olsen would pick up her first win of the season after going five innings allowing just five hits and two earned runs. Emily Farone picked up her second save of the season after going two innings allowing just two hits and one earned run.

GAME TWO:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  New England College only had three more hits than the Raiders in their 10-2 victory. The big story was Rivier's defense, which struggled and committed six errors. Destiny Cardona topped the Pilgrims in game two with her two hits and two RBIs. Emily Gagne was a solid 2-for-3 and scored three times for her team.

Giavanna Allsop (Bedford, NH) had one of the Raiders four hits that also brought in one of their two runs

-  Farone pitched all six innings in game two to put her at 6-6 on the season. She gave up only four hits and had six strikeouts.

- Rivier will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Elms College for another GNAC matchup at 2 and 4 PM.
