Softball Sweeps Fisher

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier softball team defeated the Falcons of Fisher College this evening in both non-conference contests.

THE BASICS:

- Score: Rivier 20, Fisher 0. G2 Rivier 22, Fisher 4.

- Records: Rivier (10-16), Fisher (0-18)

GAME ONE:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Nicole Capra (Windham, NH) topped the Raiders offense after getting two hits in both her at bats. She pushed across four runs for the Raiders on those hits and also crossed Homeplate four times herself.

Sarah Frazier (Londonderry, NH) continues to excel at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

- Nicole Verette (Haverhill, MA) got her fourth win of the season during three hitless innings with six strikeouts. Courtney Marioles came in to finish the game off, allowing one hit and striking out five.

- Madison Kelley got the only Fisher hit in game one.

GAME TWO:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Katherine Quinn (Salem, NH) was a perfect 4-for-4 in the game with a game high six RBIs. Amanda Atkinson (Mason, NH) tallied one hit in game two but pushed across four runs for the Raiders.

Sarah McCluskey (Lowell, MA) batted in two more for Riv while going 4-for-4. Giavanna Allsop (Bedford, NH) finished the game 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Emma Langer (Palatine, IL) picked up win number three in the circle today on five innings worth of work, allowing just four hits and four strikeouts. She also had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

- Shaniah Hazard had a team high two RBIs on a triple to right field. Letty Chavez-Rendon was a perfect 2-for-2 with the team's other RBI.

UP NEXT:

- Rivier softball will be back in action tomorrow when New England College makes the trip to Raider Diamond for a 6 and 8 PM start.
