Softball Drops a Pair to Lasell

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier softball team fell in both GNAC matchups this afternoon against Lasell University.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 4/10/22

- Score: Lasell 6, Rivier 4. G2 Lasell 9, Rivier 3

- Records: Lasell (10-10, 4-2 GNAC), Rivier (6-16, 3-5 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Both teams hit the ball well in game one. Lasell outhit the Raiders 13 to 10. Megan Theall posted a 3-for-4 day with three runs batted in. Emily Mestas had a solid day at the plate picking up three hits in four at bats.

- Four Raiders had multiple hits in the game, with Nicole Capra (Windham, NH) leading the way with three hits and two RBIs. Sarah Frazier (Londonderry, NH) continues her hot streak at the plate picking up two more hits with an RBI. Micayla Bouski (Pawtucket, RI) tacked on two more hits for Rivier along with two runs scored.

- Theall picked up her third win on the season after throwing all seven innings allowing the ten hits and striking out three.

GAME TWO:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-   Although falling in game two, the Raiders outhit the Lasers ten to nine. The difference in game two was the four walks issued to and three Raider errors. Mackenzie Still led all hitters with three hits and four RBIs.

- Courtney Marioles was 2-for-4 on the day for the Raiders with an RBI.

- Theall pitched four innings in game two, allowing seven hits with no earned runs.

- Rivier softball will be back in action Thursday against Fisher College at 5 & 7 PM.
