NASHUA, NH: The Rivier softball team fell in both non-conference games this evening to Lesley University.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 3/31/22
- Score: Lesley 10, Rivier 5. G2 Lesley 12, Rivier 1.
- Records: Lesley (2-4), Rivier (3-11)
GAME ONE:
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lynx would go up on the Raiders 5-0 after a productive top of the second.
- Rivier would get four back on the Lynx. The Raiders first run would come across after a double to center field by Josie Maggiore (North Hampton, NH) in the bottom of the fourth inning. The next three would come in the fifth. Giavanna Allsop (Bedford, NH) would get it started with double to plate one. Sarah Frazier (Londonderry, NH) would push two more across with another Raider double.
- Lesley would tack on three more to finish the game up. Jordan Day was responsible for all three after hitting a two-run home run, and RBI single her next time up.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Day led all offensive categories with 3 hits, 5 RBIs, and 2 runs scored.
- Frazier led the Raiders offense with 2 hits and 2 RBIs.
- Lesley outhit Rivier 14 to 12.
GAME TWO:
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lesley built another 5-0 lead through six innings. Day had another huge game in the batters box, starting with a two-run double in the top of the sixth and ending the game in the seventh with her second home run of the day that cleared every base.
- The Raiders lone run would come on a Julia Dailey (Dracut, MA) single up the middle.
- The Lynx would explode in the top of the seventh, scoring seven runs, including the four on Day's grand slam.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Day got the win as well, pitching 7 innings with just 3 hits allowed and tallying 10 strikeouts.
- Day was 2-for-3 with 6 RBIs and two runs scored.
- Dailey was 2-for-4 with the Raiders lone RBI.

- Rivier softball will be back tomorrow against Maine Farmington. Games are set for 4 PM and 6 PM.
