Softball Bested by Heidelberg
LEESBURG, FL: The Rivier softball fell this morning to Heidelberg University in a five-inning game in non-conference play.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 3/8/22
- Score: Heidelberg 12, Rivier 1
- Records: Heidelberg (2-1), Rivier (0-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After two scoreless innings, Heidelberg got on the board with a two-run third inning. They plated their first run on a suicide squeeze, executed perfectly by Hanna Blasinsky. Heidelberg would go off in the fourth and fifth inning to score a combined ten runs to go up 12-0.
- The Raiders, now facing the 10-run rule, looked to plate some run of their own. However, they would only get one across and fall in five innings. Rivier's one run came on a double steal seeing Kylie Poisson (Lynn, MA) steal home.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Blasinsky was a perfect 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs and scoring 3 runs.
- Kat Brady also batted in two for Heidelberg after going 2-for-3.
- Poisson was one of two Raiders to get hits in the contest going 1-for-2 with the team's only run.

- Rivier softball will be playing Plymouth state next later in the day.
