Sacca’s Late Game Heroics Sends Men’s Soccer Past Plymouth St.

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Drew Sacca came through in the clutch for Rivier men's soccer, as his goal with 3:56 to play boosted the Raiders to a 1-0 victory over Plymouth St. in non-conference play on Thursday afternoon at Arold Field. The victory improved Rivier's record to 3-8-4 on the season, while the Panthers fell to 3-6-4.

Keeper Sean Seeley made one save for the Raiders in the first half to help keep the game scoreless after 45 minutes. In the second half, Jacobb Bivens would make his debut in goal.

After two shots on goal early in the second half were stopped by the Panthers' goalie, Brayden White, the Raiders would finally break the deadlock as Landon Davison slid a pass through the box and to the foot of Sacca who buried the opportunity to give Rivier its first road victory of the season.

Rivier outshot the hosts, 13-10, through 90 minutes. Bivens made two saves in the second half, earning his first collegiate win.

This marked the first victory for over the Panthers in the all-time series, dating back to 1997.

Rivier will return to Merrill Field for the last time on Saturday, Oct. 21 for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup with Albertus Magnus on Senior Day at 1:00 p.m.
