Men’s Soccer Falls to Saint Joseph’s (Me.)

NASHUA, N.H.The Rivier men's soccer team lost 3-0 to Saint Joseph's (Me.) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at home on Merrill Field. The Raiders now stand at 2-6-3 in GNAC play and 2-8-4 on the season, while the Monks move ahead to 9-1-0 in the GNAC and 9-2-2 overall.

The Raiders committed a foul inside of the box, allowing Monks' Rion Dos Santos the opportunity at a penalty kick, which he sailed in at 23:05 in the contest to give his team a 1-0 lead.

Will Wood later sent a clean cross through the box finding Cole Bishop who finished for the second Saint Joseph's goal in the 29th minute.

The second Monks' penalty kick goal was earned by Icaro Vieira with just under eight minutes to play in the match.

SJC outshot Rivier 16-6, while also earning eight corner kicks.

Raiders' goalkeeper Dominic Cunha made six saves in net in the setback.

The Raiders will face GNAC opponent, New England Col., on the road on Saturday, Oct. 14 with a start time of 3:00 p.m. at Don Melander Field.
