Cadets Take Down Men’s Soccer 4-0

NORTHFIELD, VT: Rivier men's soccer fell this evening to conference opponent Norwich University.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/30/22

- Score: Norwich 4, Rivier 0

- Records: Norwich (6-2-1, 5-1 GNAC), Rivier (3-5-1, 0-5 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Cadets split their scoring between the two halves, scoring two in the first and another two in the second. Norwich got on the board 14 minutes in on a Mamadi Jiana goal. He was followed up about ten minutes later by Joseph Thongsythavong.

- The second half saw the cadets add to their lead when Jami Lashua netted his first of the game in the 66th minute. Thongsythavong would add on another just two minutes later for his second of the contest.  

- Noah Horn (Merrick, NY) was in net for the Raiders. He faced 14 shots on goal and made ten saves. Robert Wagenseller saw just four shots and saved all of them in the shutout.

-  Saves: Rivier 10, Norwich 4

- Rivier men's soccer will be back in action next Wednesday when they host Emmanuel College at  7 pm on Joanne Merrill field.
