Men’s Soccer Falls in Home Opener

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier men's soccer team fell in conference action this afternoon in a 5-0 game to Johnson & Wales.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/10/22

- Score: JWU 5, Rivier 0

- Records: JWU (2-1-1, 1-0 GNAC), Rivier (1-1, 0-1 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Wildcats would put two on the board in the first half and never look back. Carlos Andrade would net the first 26:13 into the half. Connor Elliot would follow about ten minutes later.

- The second half would see JWU add to their 2-0 lead with three more goals. The first came at the 75th minute from Tony Gutierrez. Four minutes later, Brian Miller would tack on the fourth Wildcat score. Finally, Jonathan Baker would end the scoring for the day with JWU's fifth goal in the 89th minute.

- Dominic Cunha (Peabody, MA) would be tagged with the loss in net for the Raiders after seeing nine shots on goal, saving four of them. Jacob Friedman only saw one shot on net and was able to save it for the Wildcats.
