Men’s Soccer Stumbles to Norwich

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier men's soccer team was shut out by Norwich University this evening in conference action by a score of 3-0 on Joanne Merrill Field.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/20/2021

- Score: Norwich 3, Rivier 0

- Records: Norwich (12-2, 9-1 GNAC), Rivier (3-11, 1-9 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders were able to stave off the potent Cadet offense through the first half. Norwich tallied plenty of shots through the half but never got a clean look through the solid Riv defense.

-  The second half, however, is where the Raiders couldn't hold off any longer. Norwich was able to put up three goals in the half, starting in the 57^th minute when Albert Baraka broke the 0-0 tie with a solid left foot from outside the 18. Amerle Nemeye netted the second score in the 64^th minute directly from a corner kick. Joseph Thongsythavong ended the evening scoring in the 76^th minute of the game.

- Raider keeper Dominic Cunha (Peabody, MA) saw 12 shots tonight, where he saved nine of them.
