Men's Soccer Shuts Out Badgers 3-0

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier University men's soccer team took down non-conference opponent Northern Vermont Johnson this evening on Joanne Merrill Field 3-0.

 THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/4/2021

- Score: Rivier 3, NVU-J 0

- Records: NVU-J (1-7), Rivier (3-6)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders jumped on the board first 31:06 into the first half after dominating in possession time. Ryan Hadouche (Nashua, NH) found the back of the net first, with a little help from his teammate Matthew Francisco (Marlborough, MA).

-  The second half is where Rivier extended their lead by another two goals. Chris Antonelli (Commack, NY) netted the first of the half off of a corner kick where he received a rebound off of his own header attempt after it was saved.

- The final goal of the contest was scored in the 76th minute by Cody Sicard (Salem, NH), who found himself one on one with the Badger keeper after making a move to beat the last defender. Sicard was able to get the ball just past the outstretched hands of Northern Vermont's Patrick Austin.
